NEW CONTAINER FOR COVID 19 VACCINES

Arneg's technology at the service of the fight against the Covid-19 Pandemic.

At Arneg we developed the only large-scale refrigerated container in the country, capable of keeping Pfizer's coronavirus vaccine at -70 °. It is produced in Rosario and has the capacity to hold thousands of doses from all laboratories, each one at the required temperature.

The Sputnik V and AtraZeneca vaccines need to be kept between -20 ° and -30 °, something not so complex to achieve with existing cold equipment. However, from the beginning the doubts were placed on that of Pfizer, which constantly requires -70 °, which is more complex. That is why some time ago the authorities organized a meeting with the main cold manufacturers to raise this problem and find a solution.

This is how we conducted a joint work between the technicians of the Rosario plant in Argentina, and our peers from the headquarters in Italy, designing the detailed engineering of the cabin and the analysis of the materials to be used to withstand so much cold.

Finally, the Teamwork paid off, and a prototype of a cascade cold plant was created, which has a 0 ° lock, a -30 ° chamber (which can be set to another temperature) and then a cabin with temperature at -70 °.

Direct access to a chamber at this low temperature is impossible, but on the other hand, doing it from a -30 ° one allows the vaccine to be readily available without the need for special equipment. Also, the container can hold other doses at different degrees, and the 0 ° lock can be used to place the vaccine.

Direct access to a chamber at this low temperature is impossible, but on the other hand, doing it from one of -30 ° allows the vaccine to be readily available without the need for special equipment. In addition, the container can hold other doses at different degrees, and the 0 ° lock can be used to deliver the vaccine.

It has a backup system so that cooling is maintained even if the equipment suffers a breakdown. Everything is duplicated, and if there is a problem in the primary system, the secondary one starts working until the fault is solved.

Although there are small freezers that reach that temperature of -70 °, they do so with very little volume. But with this development, we can provide an approximate capacity of 20 thousand liters at -70 °, which translated into doses is a very large number.

Of course, it can be installed throughout Argentina and even move to countries in the region.

In case of receiving the ok from the authorities and having all the materials, there could be three cold stations per week.

“At Arneg we do not think of this as a business, because in fact we do not know if this vaccine will reach the country or not, but we consider that it is a technological contribution that seeks to solve a public health problem. It is more than anything a matter of social conscience, and that is why we make this development available to whoever needs it in the world ”, stated Carlos Pasciullo.
